Innovator in Digital Sound
C5 was one of the first sound studios to transition from linear to digital sound editing. C5 also pioneered the use of media-sharing capabilities over a Storage Area Network (SAN) to exponentially increase the speed at which sound production could take place. C5 engineers thrive on developing new ways to incorporate state-of-the-art digital technology into their productions.

The Largest Foley Stage Around NYC
C5 Foley artists 'recreate' sound effects in a state of the art 3,700 sq. ft. facility that completely replace original sound and augment existing sounds to create a richer track. One of the largest of its kind, C5's Foley Stage has water, mud and sand pits, and a warehousing space large enough to accommodate cars, boats, and any oversized props.

State-of-the-Art Mixing Capabilities
C5 owns and manages a newly upgraded Dolby maintained 5.1 Mix Stage. Using the power of Digidesign's Protools, C5 has taken the philosophy of "the edit is the mix, the mix is the edit" and applies it to every production. Besides the Mix Stage, each Sound Design Suite is a 5.1 edit / mix capable room, allowing editors to not just pick the right sound, but to place them properly anywhere in the sound field.

C5 is credited with final mixing on several films including "The Agronomist", "The Business of Strangers," "P.S", "Ash Wednesday," and "Y Tu Mama Tambien", Predub mixing for films such as "American Splendor", "Stepford Wives", "The Aviator", "Manchurian Candidate", and "Door In The Floor", to name just a few, were also completed recently at C5.

In 2004, C5's co-founder Ron Bochar shared both an Emmy Award as well as the Cinema Audio Society's Award for Outstanding Sound Mixing on Mike Nichol's "Angels In America" that was Predubbed at C5.

Sound Effects Library
C5 hosts a comprehensive sound effects library featuring thousands of original digitally recorded sounds. C5 utilizes these sounds through a high speed data network at every workstation in the facility.
